SDPPC: Then & Now

History of SDPPC

The South Dakota Pork Producers Council (SDPPC) was formed in February, 1954 and was incorporated under the name of South Dakota Swine Improvement Association. In November 1967, the organization changed their Articles of Incorporation and called the new association the South Dakota Pork Producers Council. The SDPPC was incorporated for the purpose of giving state direction to and do all things possible to improve or increase the quality and production of the swine industry in South Dakota and throughout the U.S.

SD Pork Producers Council Today

Today the South Dakota Pork Producers Council has evolved into a nine committee organization with a nineteen member Executive Board of Directors. The organization is funded with both Checkoff and Non-Checkoff dollars, and our primary expenditures are for research, education, information and legislative issues.
